Financial Help for Seniors
At a StoneGate supported community we’re committed to helping our residents in any way we can. Sometimes this means assisting them and their families in finding the best ways to finance your move. That’s why we partner with a variety of trusted senior financial solution providers as well as offering less expensive living options. Working together, we find the most advantageous financial avenues for our residents to take.
Some of our providers include:
Elderlife Financial Services
Elderlife makes available the EFS: Access loan to seniors, their family members, or any individual seeking to access senior living. Structured like a line of credit, it is an easy way to finance senior living, eliminating for many, a significant obstacle to moving into a senior living community. The program can provide your family the time and flexibility you desire. With low monthly payments, a fast and simple same-day decision in most cases, this loan program can benefit you by enabling you to:
- Pay for rent while waiting for a home to sell
- Pay for rent while waiting for VA or other benefits
- Finance move-in fees
- Supplement monthly rent
Life Care Funding Group
Many people do not realize that their life insurance is a financial asset that may benefit them today. If your loved one owns life insurance they no longer need or can afford, that is something they can sell through our relationship with Life Care Funding Group. They offer two methods of converting a life insurance policy into funds you can use for long term care or senior housing. The Assurance Benefit converts a death benefit into a long term care benefit without premium payments or wait periods. Benefit amounts are larger than a life settlement and the process is quick and uncomplicated. The benefit will cover every form of long term care and senior housing. A Life Settlement is the sale of an in-force life insurance policy to an investor that will set certain minimum requirements for age and policy size.
The Life Care Funding Group helps seniors raise funds to pay for senior housing through the life settlement market. A “life settlement” is the sale of an in-force life insurance policy for an amount much greater than the cash surrender value from the insurance company. Many families and seniors find a life settlement a great way to help finance their senior living options.
- Process takes 30-90 days
- No upfront charges or obligations
- Policy owner receives lump sum payment and no longer pays monthly premiums

Veterans Program – Aid & Attendance
If you are a veteran or the spouse of a veteran, you may be eligible for a V.A. pension at no cost to you. There are more than 2 million veterans and spouses who qualify for this benefit nationwide. These benefits can substantially reduce the cost of long-term care. Many aging service men and women (and their spouses) are astonished, and happily so, to discover that an eligible veteran can often receive reimbursement for up to 60% of the unreimbursed costs of long-term care, and a surviving spouse can often receive up to a 35% reimbursement. The Aid and Attendance allowance is a wartime veteran’s benefit that varies depending upon need, existing financial resources and whether the veteran is single, married or widowed. The veteran does not have to have been on the front lines of battle, but in the service during a wartime event, with an honorable discharge. The veteran and their spouses may be eligible for the Aid and Attendance Allowance, available through Compensation and Pension Programs.
This alternative brings together two residents to share a suite and offers a more affordable option for the budget conscious individual. Shared Suites includes all the features and benefits of senior living such as, great meals, engaging activities, transportation and most importantly experienced team members dedicated to compassionate care.
The goal is to match people with a common background or interest that can serve as a foundation for a friendship. Shared Suites can ease the transition to the community from the guidance of a roommate who knows the feelings of living alone, and builds confidence and self-worth through meaningful relationships.
