Happy Birthday Lindsey Coursey!

  • Image: Lindsey CourseyHow long have you been with StoneGate? I have been here for 11 years. I am currently a Regional Financial Consultant.
  • How do you plan to celebrate your special day? I will be working, and then home to my wonderful family.
  • What is a fun fact about you? My first job was milking cows. I grew up on a dairy farm. It was the best way to grow up.
  • What do you enjoy most about your work? I love being able to help and teach my peers. It is also rewarding to assist and help our residents and families obtain the aid they need to be able to afford nursing care.
  • What advice would you give to someone doing your job? You can make a schedule and try to stick with it, but you will always need to be flexible because something or somebody is going to interrupt your plans.
  • What is your most memorable travel experience? I was driving home from visiting family in Arkansas…I was extremely pregnant, and the roads were covered in ice for probably 150 miles. I was in a rear wheel drive vehicle. We had it loaded down with wood in the back to add some weight for traction. I was white knuckling the whole time on that ice. The ice added an extra three hours to our drive that day. It was the most stressful drive of my life. I had precious cargo.
  • What’s the farthest from home you’ve ever been? Alaska.
  • What is the funniest thing that’s ever happened to you? My husband and I decided to remodel our living room and we have high beams that needed painting. My husband was making slow progress, so I started aggravating him about it. He got irritated and said, “If you think you can do better, get on up her and get them painted”. So, I climbed that ladder. Once I got to the top and looked down, I started bawling and squalling. My husband had to come to my rescue and help me down. I didn’t paint an inch of those beams, and I sure didn’t complain again on how long it was taking. We laughed really hard after I got my wits about me.
  • If you could be anyone in history, who would it be? I’m not sure I would really want to be anybody else, but I really admire Eleanor Roosevelt-to stand up for human rights during that time took tremendous courage. Courage is one of my favorite attributes.
  • Do you have any phobias? I have claustrophobia and acrophobia (fear of heights). It’s getting worse with age.
